Hi, I’m Nigel John Farmer, and I’d like to share a little about myself and the experiences that have shaped my passions for spirituality, creativity, and self-discovery. Truthfully, I’ve always been hesitant to open up, but my wife has been my greatest encourager, gently reminding me that now is the time to share what I’ve experienced and learned. Through her belief in me and her loving support, I’ve been inspired to transform my reflections and knowledge into meaningful projects that align with my deepest interests.
In late 2023, I began this journey by creating MeditatingAstronaut.com, a heartfelt space where I explore spirituality, creativity, and self-discovery. Recognizing that modern life often demands efficiency, I designed my content to be short and easily digestible—whether it’s quick articles that take less than five minutes to read, podcasts that offer thoughtful spoken narratives under five minutes, or music tracks created to be short kinesthetic experiences under five minutes as well. This approach ensures that my work is approachable for people with busy lives and provides opportunities for reflection within the rhythm of everyday life.
By late 2024, I expanded my vision with the creation of my podcast, Spiritual Snacks & Cosmic Chats, offering a spoken-word exploration of life’s deeper mysteries, and MeditatingAstronautMusic.com, where I transformed select written articles into original lyrics paired with generative AI music. Through these complementary platforms, I share my insights across various accessible mediums, offering individuals diverse ways to engage and grow spiritually.
Through these projects, I aim to inspire curiosity, connection, and wonder, encouraging others to embrace their own path of growth in a way that fits seamlessly into their busy lives.
My Relevant experiences:
Early Years in the UK: A Spiritual Awakening
I was born in the UK, where my journey into spirituality began. My father often spoke about life existing elsewhere in the Universe, reminding me that just because we can’t see something doesn’t mean it isn’t real. Things aren't always what they seem at first glance. Never be afraid of the dark Mistakes are simply learning opportunities and beware of the consequences of your actions. These guiding perspectives shaped my early curiosity about all the Universe may offer. In retrospect I believe my father was at least very intuitive but very fettered.
At 12 years old, I attended a spiritual medium event that profoundly impacted me. During the session, the medium shared vivid messages directly for me from my late paternal great grandfather, a spiritual medium himself. My mother’s stunned reaction solidified the moment’s significance, sparking my belief in the unseen. Around this same time, my maternal grandfather began tutoring me in spiritual healing, known today as Reiki. This early guidance helped me understand the subtle, profound energies that flow through and around us.
A Life-Altering Motorcycle Accident
At 17, life took an unexpected turn when a severe motorcycle accident left me with significant injuries. The road to recovery was long and grueling but taught me resilience and the value of determination. The injuries sustained during this time would resurface later in life. In my early fifties, after returning to the UK briefly from Canada, I required a five-and-a-half-hour emergency surgery to fuse titanium discs in my neck. Facing the prospect of paraplegia was a humbling and life-changing moment that reminded me to view life as a gift, no matter how fragile it may feel.
New Zealand: Mediumship, Bi-location, and Wairuatanga
At 22 years old I moved to New Zealand, where my spiritual path deepened further. I spent four years attending a spiritual mediumship circle, which helped me refine my intuitive abilities. During this time, I studied under Joseph, a Māori elder, who introduced me to Wairuatanga spirituality—a philosophy deeply rooted in harmony with spirit and nature. His teachings profoundly influenced my perspective on life and the interconnectedness of all things.
In Wellington, I experienced bi-location under spiritual guidance. My consciousness simultaneously appeared in New Zealand and, remarkably, outside my parents’ home in the UK. My mother later described seeing me outside her window in vivid detail, down to the clothes I was wearing. This extraordinary shared experience challenged my understanding of reality and deepened my belief in the boundless potential of consciousness.
Joseph introduced me to Ann, a retired ex-RAF war room WAAF, who also tutored me in further developing my psychic aptitude. Ann also shared her late husband’s detailed private journals about UFO sightings tied to his work at the DSIR (Department of Scientific and Industrial Research). These insights added layers to my ongoing fascination with the unexplained.
Returning to the UK: Glastonbury and Crop Circles
After returning to the UK, I was drawn to Glastonbury, a spiritual hub filled with mysteries. It was here that I became involved in a crop circle research project led by my dear friend “T.” As the team’s photographer and videographer, I documented the intricate formations and the fascinating phenomena surrounding them.
My experiences in these formations were nothing short of extraordinary. Despite fully charging my camera and video equipment beforehand, the batteries would mysteriously and completely drain the moment I stepped into the crop circles. It was as if the energy of the formations was interacting directly with the devices—a phenomenon that left me both intrigued and awestruck.
Another remarkable sensation occurred every time I entered a crop circle. It felt as though I was brushing through an invisible, cobweb-like curtain—a delicate but tangible energy field that marked my transition into that space. This sensation of moving through an unseen “net” was subtle yet profound and added to the sense that these formations were far more than mere physical designs.
One of the most unforgettable moments during this research was when our small group—composed of T, Tom, my former wife, and me—agreed to collectively envision a specific crop formation design as proof of interspecies communication. We meditated on a pictogram with four distinct elements and sent our intention to the crop circle makers. To our astonishment, the exact design we had envisioned appeared in a field the very next morning. This moment, alongside the countless mysteries of the formations, cemented my belief in synchronicity and the possibility of interdimensional communication.
These experiences, coupled with my encounter with an intelligent orange orb that appeared in my bedroom and seemed to dissolve my sense of linear time, further deepened my connection to the unknown and my understanding of the enigmatic energy that weaves through our reality. Still to this day I do not recall what happened during the lost time?
My ex-wife and I did join the CSETI initiative from Dr Steven Greer back in approx 1993 after attending his talk in Glastonbury and nighttime remote CE-5 events around Glastonbury Tor and Knapp Hill near Alton Barns in Wiltshire. I recall at that time we even signed a waiver that we agreed to be willing to take part in a CE-5 event, and if the occasion arose that ET invited us onboard we would agree to go. After Greer left town there was no follow up and this was pre-internet or emails.
Canada: Remote Viewing, Pioneering Training, and Meeting Visionaries
My life journey then took me to Canada, where I immersed myself in new opportunities and meaningful experiences. During this time, I honed my remote-viewing skills under the guidance of renowned instructor Echan Deravy, which led to collaborations with organisations aiming to unlock insights into complex and often unseen realms. This remote practice deepened my understanding of consciousness and furthered my ability to bridge the physical and metaphysical worlds.
As part of my volunteer work with Blue Energy Inc. I had the privilege of meeting the visionary inventor John Hutchinson at his home in Surrey, BC. Hutchinson was known for his groundbreaking experiments, and I was fortunate to witness his attempts to replicate Nikola Tesla's electrostatic generator. That day spent in Hutchinson ramshackled workshop was fascinating to me. We so easily chatted about electromagnetism and its potential for new forms of transportation and the boundless benefits for humanity.
It was also in Vancouver, BC, Canada that I reconnected with Eckhart Tolle, whom I had first met in the UK, just outside Glastonbury. I provided him with an Apple Mac computer and taught him to use word processing, helping him transition from handwriting to typing his first book, The Power of Now. Our weekly meetings were filled with meaningful conversations, and witnessing his book evolve into a global bestseller remains a meaningful memory from this time.
In parallel, I dedicated myself to helping immigrants and refugees adapt to Canadian society. Witnessing the challenges they faced—especially in multicultural workplaces—inspired me to pioneer/develop a computer based “Soft Skills” training programs for Canadian employers. This program was specifically designed to help immigrants integrate seamlessly into a multicultural workforce, fostering mutual understanding and empowering individuals to thrive in their new environments. This work gave me a profound appreciation for the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of equity and inclusion.
Canada: Loss, Healing, and Lily
Canada also brought one of the most profound and challenging experiences of my life. My partner and I faced the heartbreak of losing a child through miscarriage. The pain of this loss was immense and changed the direction of my life in ways I could not have anticipated.
During an Ayahuasca ceremony, I experienced a spiritual encounter with the spirit of a young girl named Lily. She held me in a warm embrace and explained that her brief presence in our lives had been purposeful—to teach me the human experience of profound loss and the depth of unconditional love. Through her message, I found peace and healing. While this event reshaped my understanding of grief and love, I will always hold her memory close to my heart.
Though I never experienced fatherhood in the traditional sense, I found great joy and fulfillment in nurturing my partner’s children from a previous relationship. They brought love, pride, and many treasured memories into my life. Being a stepfather was one of the greatest honours I’ve ever known, and the bond we shared remains a cherished part of my journey.
Settling in SW France: Creativity and Connection
Now, I make my home in SW France with my wife, whose love and belief in me have been my greatest blessings. Here, I’ve embraced new creative dimensions, serving as Editor-in-Chief of a jazz magazine and rediscovering my passion for storytelling through voice-over work for ancient historical sites and museums.
Through MeditatingAstronaut.com, Spiritual Snacks & Cosmic Chats, and MeditatingAstronautMusic.com, I combine writing, spoken reflections, and music to inspire others. From crafting song lyrics to exploring cosmic themes, I hope I’ve found meaningful ways to connect with those on their own journeys of growth.
Gratitude and Growth
Throughout my life, I’ve embraced the gifts and challenges of my Dyslexia, INFJ personality and the transformative energy of my numerology name number, 11. Each phase of my journey has taught me invaluable lessons in resilience, love, and self-discovery.
Through my creative work, I hope to offer inspiration, connection, and a reminder that the Universe believes in you the reader—and so do I.
Blessings,
Nigel John Farmer
